What is Injustice 2?
The Injustice franchise is a 2D fighting game that brings together all of the greatest heroes and villains from the DC universe. The plot of the series follows a potential future in which Superman, fed up with the rampant crime in the world, decides to use his powers to “stop crime permanently” by creating a totalitarian world in which those whom have committed a crime, or are suspected to do so in the future, are put to death. “Injustice 2” in particular explores the question of whether the now divided heroes of the world can once again come together to fight off a new threat. The Injustice series has one of the best written an directed stories in a fighting game. Additionally I would argue it to be one of the most engaging super hero stories in any medium.
The Win Condition?
Simply reach the end credits in story mode. No need to complete all branching paths; one complete story run is sufficient.
The story mode will have you play as a variety of heroes and villains such as Batman, Superman, and Harley Quinn as you unravel a tumultuous tale of intrigue and betrayal. The story mode is well paced with engaging videos spaced out between exciting fights. The combat in “Injustice 2” is also very well paced in my opinion. Its closest counterpart being the “Mortal Kombat” franchise, “Injustice 2” is a slower deliberate fighters. A memorable cast and beautifully animated fights make the game as enjoyable to watch as it is to play. Combat is technical enough to create a competitive game with plenty to study and learn should you be inclined to do so. However, the game is plenty accessible to new comers and is enjoyable even if you do not know your combos or frame data.
I really have nothing but good things to say about this game. “Injustice 2” has by far one of the best single player experiences in fighting games. With equally compelling story and combat.
“Injustice 2” is easily worthy of taking the new top spot for the fighting list. Beautiful animation, an incredible roster of characters, deep but accessible combat, and a compelling story makes this game a must play for anyone interested in playing fighting games in single-player. As such “Injustice 2” is the new number 1 in the fighting list.
